After a relatively quiet year for Star Wars in 2024, 2025 seems poised to follow a similar trend, particularly in live-action content. However, the quality of what’s coming could make up for the quantity. With the much-anticipated second season of Andor on the horizon, this series alone might carry the year. After all, Andor Season 1 remains one of the most critically acclaimed releases in Star Wars history.
While live-action offerings may be limited—aside from Skeleton Crew, which wraps its first season in January 2025—other forms of Star Wars content promise to keep fans engaged. Expect a wave of new books and comics centered around the High Republic, along with a strong lineup of Star Wars comics from Marvel throughout the year.
The video game front may feel the most sparse. Several exciting titles are in development, including EA’s third Jedi installment, Quantic Dream’s Star Wars: Eclipse, and the Knights of the Old Republic remake. However, none of these have been confirmed for a 2025 release. Ubisoft’s Star Wars: Outlaws will receive updates, but no major new Star Wars games appear to be on the immediate horizon unless unexpected announcements change the landscape.
On a brighter note, Star Wars Visions (the anime-inspired anthology series) will return for a third season, providing fans with another dose of creative storytelling from the galaxy far, far away.
